Free Wednesday Sessions – sign up today

🌞 Introducing Wednesday Morning Group Coaching – All Levels Welcome! 🎾

We’re excited to launch a new Wednesday morning tennis coaching session designed for players of all skill levels and run by our wonderful Head Coach – Nelson Cuellar.

Whether you’re just starting out or refining your game, these sessions are a great way to stay active, enjoy the summer sun and connect with others!

As part of our effort to grow our tennis community, we’re offering our these free in February to non members. Limited spaces are available so book now to secure your spot!

When: Wednesdays starting from February 5th, 9:30am- 10:30am
What: Group coaching followed by morning tea and social play if you choose
Where: Mission Bay Tennis Club – 11a Marau Rd, Mission Bay (parking on site)
Why: To have fun, enjoy the summer, learn a new skill OR improve our tennis
How: Non members – sign up here for 4 free group lessons (5, 12, 19 & 25th Feb)
Members – sign up here $20 per lesson

MBTC on TVNZ+ Breakfast

Mission Bay Tennis Club appeared on the TVNZ+ Breakfast show to promote Love Tennis on Friday 6th September at around 8.55am.

Thank you to all of our volunteers that helped to decorate the Club and fill the Courts and Club House for the segment.

Group and Private Coaching Term 3 2024

We have a number of Term 3 Tennis Coaching Group Lessons available to Members and Guests.

If you are new to Tennis or haven’t picked up a racket in a while, come to Rusty Rackets to gain the confidence you need to join in at our Social Tournaments or Club Nights.

Or perhaps your kids would enjoy some after school fun at our junior Hot Shots sessions.

Private Lessons also available on request, and we now have our new Head Coach: Nelson Cuellar onboard, so it is a great time to get Private Lessons into his calendar!

Meet our New Head Coach: Nelson Cuellar

Mission Bay Tennis Club is thrilled to introduce our new Head Coach: Nelson Cuellar.

Nelson is a seasoned tennis professional with experience as both as a player and a coach. Nelson has been a high-performance player since the age of 8 and has over 18 years of coaching experience across the USA, Europe and New Zealand.

Nelson is a Tennis NZ Registered Coach, an ITF Level 2 Club Professional Coach and has previously held several head coaching positions around Auckland, and was even awarded Tennis Auckland Club Coach of the Year (2017-2018).

We are so excited to have him with us. Please introduce yourself if/when you see him at the Club and make him feel welcome!

Club Night Updates: Calimero Challenge; Wimbledon Whites and Paris Olympics 2024

Highlights from our Calimero Challenge in May, Wimbledon Whites in July and Paris Olympics themed Club Night in August 2024.

Calimero Challenge

We held a successful Calimero Challenge 2024 over every Tuesday during May.

Special thanks to Calimero Pizza, our proud sponsors of the event, and the creative addition of a new indicator on our Dart board.

Thank you to everyone who helped and participated throughout the month and continued to make this one of the Club’s many fun events every year!

Wimbledon Whites

We had a great night on Wednesday 3rd July for our annual Wimbledon Whites, with 24 players playing in Teams of 2 playing Round Robin Doubles with a Rolling Handicapped Scoring System. 

Everyone looked fantastic in their Whites and traditional English grub of Fish n’Chips and Mushy Peas was served.

On Wednesday 7th August, we had an amazing fun-filled Paris Olympics Club Night including 3 special events:

  2. Tennis Ball and Racquet Relay
  3. Tennis Ball Throw
