Electric Vehicle Charger Fair Use Policy
MBTC provides EV chargers for members and visitors attending club activities. To ensure fairness and manage costs, users must adhere to the follow guidelines:
- Purpose: Chargers are for short “top-ups” only, not a replacement for primary home or work charging.
- Time Limit: Limit charging to 3 hours per week to minimize costs.
Acknowledgment: By using MBTC EV chargers, members and visitors agree to abide by this Fair Use Policy.
Thank you for helping MBTC manage resources responsibly.
Cost Responsibility: While the chargers were intended to be user-pays, technical issues with the TESLA platform currently prevent this. MBTC, as a non-profit, is therefore covering electricity costs. Excessive use strains club resources.
Monitoring: Usage is monitored, and excessive users may face access restrictions. In the event of policy misuse, it may result in the chargers being deactivated until the user-pays system is available and implemented.
This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as needed.

Donations
Many years ago, a lovely Member donated a Hair Dryer which has been made available for use in the Ladies' Bathroom downstairs. Unfortunately this is no longer with us. Thank you for helping to dry our Members' hair all of these years.
We welcome Members' donations of items that will enhance Member and Guest experience at the Club, however please do let us know if/when you do so. Thank you!

9. Reminders
Social Media Engagement: Social Media plays a significant part in the success of the Club by increasing our brand awareness, community engagement and search engines also consider social signals (such as Likes, Shares and Hashtags) when determining website rankings. So, your engagement can indirectly boost our visibility and in the long term, that can only help us to make the Club better for you! We encourage you to react (preferably with a Like or Love) on our Socials Media posts please! Thank you!👍
Reviews: Reviews also play a significant part in the success of the Club too. Please also give your Club a plug by adding a review on Google and Facebook. This will be a great help to MBTC. Thank you! 🙏
Court Usage: We encourage you to always please Book the Courts, Register and Collect Guests Fees, and Close the Gates after playing.
Guest Fees: We welcome all guests to MBTC but please remember all guests to the courts should be paying a $10 court fee per hour. We have noticed a lot of members are bringing guests but not adding them to your booking. To avoid us having to shoulder tap you and to save the committee time please add them at the time of our booking. Maintaining the courts are the clubs largest expense and this small fee is to make sure everyone using the courts is contributing to wear and tear, not just our members.
Lights & Cancellation: The Lights for the Court come on automatically for all evening bookings. If you cannot make your booking or cut your booking short for any reason please cancel in ClubSpark so lights aren't left on when no-one is playing. We have had a number of community complaints regarding the Lights being left on when there is not tennis played, so appreciate your efforts to address this. It also allows others to use this booking if it’s peak hours.
Super Soaker: Thanks to the generous support of our local board, Ōrākei Local Board, we are the proud owner of a Bowdry surface water remover. @orakeilocalboard have been great supporters of MBTC, not just financially but also attending our AGM’s (where almost the entire board was represented) and to the ribbon cutting ceremony to open the new floodlights. Thank you #orakeilocalboard, making a difference in the community.
Sand Drag Mat: If you notice an uneven build-up of sand or too much sand in one particular area on a Court you are about to play on, (this can be caused by water ponding after a rain shower), it is recommended to use the Drag Mat to distribute the sand to minimise the risk of a fall. The drag mat can usually be found hanging on the fence of one of the courts.
Electrical Vehicle Charging: Chargers are for short “top-ups” only, not a replacement for primary home or work charging, with a time limit of 3 hours per week.
Dogs: We all love dogs at MBTC, we really do. We just ask that Members and Guests please keep their dogs outside of the Club House please. Dogs are welcome on the upstairs deck, and we have dedicated water bowls for them, but please don't bring them inside.
Club Room Hire: Did you know our clubrooms are available to hire? If you are interested, please contact us to find for more info.
