MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS REMINDER
All 2024-25 Members were invited to renew their Memberships for the 2025-26 season and Reminders have also been sent to those that haven't renewed.
Renewal is also required for Members that are on the Monthly instalment plans, so if that applies to you, then please accept the invite to renew for the 2025-26 season.
We know life is busy and these things can slip through the cracks, but If you haven't already renewed please do so ASAP or let us know otherwise. Taking action now saves us countless hours of admin by our team of volunteers and is much appreciated.

COURT BOOKINGS
Peak Hours Policy:
To ensure fair access and an enjoyable experience for all Members, we kindly ask that court bookings during peak hours (5:30pm – 8:30pm, year-round) are made for play involving two or more players.
Solo practice isn’t available for booking in these times. However, if a court is free, you’re welcome to use it without a booking.
Member and Guests Names:
When making a court booking, please include the names of everyone playing and note whether they are a Member or Guest.
This not only helps us see who is using the courts but also supports fair court allocation and provides useful information for things like grant applications.
Thank you for your support as we continue to improve court access and Member experience.

MEMBER UPDATES:
Jacob Crichton - 2025 Taekwon-do World Champs
Wondering why you haven't seen Jacob Crichton on court lately?...
Two reasons:
-
He fractured his little toe first week of T3, and
-
He's been training to represent New Zealand in Taekwon-do.
Having only just graded to back belt in December last year, Jacob is one of 48 New Zealander competitors heading to Croatia in October for the 2025 Taekwon-do World Champs, and is competing in the “Pre Junior (14U) Male 1st Dan Black Belt, Individual Patterns”.
Good luck Jacob! Have a great trip! We know you'll give it your best shot.

Sophie Carrington - Relocation
Wishing Sophie Carrington Good Luck on her relocation to Wellington.
Sophie has been a Member of Mission Bay Tennis Club for a number of years, Interclub Team Captain, Club Manager and Events Manager for Club House hire.

INTERCLUB - REGISTRATIONS
Registrations for Twilight Interclub are still Open. Team submission is on Sunday 12th October.
Please note, an email was sent to all Members that expressed interest to play Twilight during the earlier Summer Senior Interclub registration to request your confirmation if you are still interested to play and to provide your preferred format and date. Please respond ASAP.
If you are interested in playing Twilight but haven't registered yet, please register ASAP

LOVE TENNIS - Sunday 7th September
We had another awesome Love Tennis on Sunday 7th September with ~275 participants, 80 coaching participants, 40 volunteers and 100,000 views on Facebook from 1 August to 17 September!
Special Thank You to all of our Suppliers, Sponsors and Volunteers. We couldn't have done it without you.

We also invited Tennis Auckland to Mission Bay Tennis Club to have a hit and talk Love Tennis. Thank you to Rohan West, David Frank and Charlie Alexander.

TENNIS AUCKLAND AWARDS CELEBRATION - Friday 19th September
On Friday 19th September, members came together to celebrate our Tennis Auckland 2025 Awards success after Mission Bay Tennis Club won 3 Awards:
1. Club Spirit
2. Club Marketing, Promotion and Membership AND
3. Club of the Year
Thank you to everyone that joined us to celebrate and to everyone that makes this the best Club in Auckland! Special thanks to our Committee and all of our Volunteers!
Congratulations to Alana Podbielski who was awarded the Jubilee Cup on the night (as she was away during the AGM and Prize Giving on 29th August).
Special Thank You also to Oasis Landscapes Maintenance for the Champagne Raffle Prize awarded to Ed Ouwens. Thank you for your onoing support.

4. Interclub
Summer Senior Interclub
The Summer Senior Interclub competition commenced on Saturday 6th September with 14 Mission Bay Tennis Club Teams!
With these numbers there will be 6 Courts full of Senior Interclub being played at Mission Bay Tennis Club every Saturday.
Junior Pre-Xmas Interclub
We have also submitted 8 Junior Interclub Teams for the Pre-Xmas season, with Teams from Beginner grade to a Premier Team.
We look forward to welcoming our Juniors and Parents back to Junior Club Night on Friday 10th October.
Juniors 6-11 years old from 5pm and Juniors 12 years old and above from 6pm on Court with Coaching.
The Club House and Bar will be open from 5pm with Calimero Pizza at 7pm.
Join us each weekend too to spectate and celebrate our Senior and Junior Teams' performances!
