1. Upcoming Events
Upcoming Major Events for the next few months are below. Other Major Events and Registrations will be circulated in our Newsletters and updated on our Website and Social Media throughout the year.

Please note, some dates may be subject to change depending on weather and or volunteer and participant availability.

Senior Interclub Registration Open until Sunday 13th July
We welcome Members to introduce and encourage Guests to sign-up for Interclub with Mission Bay. Please note, in accordance with Tennis Auckland Interclub Rules, all players must be full-financial Members of the Club.
|
|
The deadline to transfer any players who played Promotion/Relegation Grades for another club last season is 1st August 2025, and any other players can be added to our Open teams anytime up until Christmas.
|
Please also note, registrations for Junior Interclub and Midweek Interclub will open in the last week of August.
|
|
Senior Interclub Match Up Day Saturday 12th July
On Saturday 12th July 1pm we are having a match up day for everyone NEW to MBTC or NEW to Interclub.
|
If this is you, and you are interested in playing Senior Summer Interclub in the upcoming season then please come along!!
|
If you can score, rally and serve then Interclub is a fun way to improve your tennis, play with a team and meet lots of new club members from around Auckland.
|
There are lots of different levels and formats we can enter you in so come along next Saturday, play a few games and the team will make sure you are ready and entered into the right team.
|
Quiz Night Saturday 26th July
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is just around the corner on Saturday 26th July, so please purchase your tickets ASAP! All proceeds will be going towards astroturf replacements on Courts 1-3.

CARJAM: The Trusted Vehicle Background Check.

Come by yourself OR with a group of friends. There are some amazing items up for silent auction including lots of coaching packages.
|
In the meantime, we would greatly appreciate any support from our members. Please help us by asking friends, family, workplaces to donate for our silent auctions, whether its products, services or unique experiences, please get in touch with Alice (phone or e-mail). Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference!!

Wednesday Club Social Nights
Our Senior Club Social Night is every Wednesday from 7pm and is running throughout Winter. Free for Members and $15 for Guests. Regular Doubles Match play with the occasional themed night for some extra fun.

The Sunday Singles Sessions are now being held on Saturdays whilst Winter Interclub is in play.

2. Notifications
|
Love Tennis Volunteers Needed
Last year Mission Bay Tennis Club had its most successful Love Tennis event ever with over ~280 participants registered on the day. Mission Bay was also one of three Clubs in the Tennis New Zealand Love Tennis Club of the Year, and as the only Auckland Club in the three, the unofficial Tennis Auckland Love Tennis Club of the Year.
|
This year, Love Tennis is on Sunday 7th September from 10am - 2pm and we want to see it at Mission Bay back, bigger and better than ever.
|
We can't do this alone though, so we need your help! We need as many Members as possible to help on the day to achieve this.
|
Members are invited to Volunteer to help on the day, (it's just 4 hours!), and/or help with planning for the day.
|

Constitution Reminder
A sub-committee has been working on a revised club constitution to ensure we meet the requirements of the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
|
The current constitution, like many older club documents, does not comply with the updated legislation, which all incorporated societies must adhere to by April 2026.
|
Once the draft has been reviewed by the Committee, it will be shared with all members well in advance of the AGM to allow time for feedback and discussion.
|
|
Our goal is to adopt the new constitution at this year’s AGM to keep the club compliant and up to date.
|

3. Recent Events
French Open Club Night
On Wednesday 11th June we traveled to the French Riviera for our French Open Club Social Night where players came in Red White and Blue and a French accent! Oui La La!
|
Regular Doubles Matchplay with a French flair with two Teams "Napoleon" and "Emily in Paris" competing in a Tennis Racquet-Baguette Relay and Tennis Ball Boulles.
|
Congratulations Team Napoleon, and Emma-Jane Sewell who took out the Baguette and Boules and Best-Dressed respectively, despite hot competition from Irina Gorbatova.
|

Hot Shots Tournament by Tennis One New Zealand
On Saturday 21st June, Tennis One New Zealand hosted a Hot Shots Tournament at Mission Bay Tennis Club!
|
Congratulations to all of the Juniors thata participated. It was a great afternoon of quality and competitive Tennis!
|

4. Interclub
Winter Interclub
Senior Outdoor Winter Interclub commenced on Sunday 8th June, with 4 Mission Bay Teams.
|
|
The season is now at the halfway after 3 Scheduled Rounds completed except for few rescheduled Rounds.
|
|
|
Summer Interclub
Summer Senior Interclub commences on Saturday 6th September.

6. Reminders
Social Media Engagement and Reviews: Social Media and Reviews plays a significant part in the success of the Club so we encourage you to please help by adding a Google Review or Facebook Review and Reactions to our Socials Media posts please!
|
Court Usage: We encourage you to always please Book the Courts, Register and Collect Guests Fees, and Close the Gates after playing. Please also Cancel the Courts if you cannot make your Booking or Cancel the time if you are running late.
|
Super Soaker and Sand Drag Mat: Please use the Super Soaker and Sand Drag mat in the case of rain and sand build up. Please also drain the water before returning inside via the black rubber plug on the side as per the instructions attached to the machine and pasted top the wall where its kept.
|
Electrical Vehicle Charging: Chargers are for short “top-ups” only, not a replacement for primary home or work charging, with a time limit of 3 hours per week. Please be mindful that the Club covers all electricity costs, and power prices have risen significantly in recent months. Excessive use places a strain on Club resources. We ask all members to use this facility responsibly
|
Dogs: We are a dog-friendly Club and we have dedicated water bowls for them, however, please ensure dogs are kept on a leash and remain outdoors at all times.
|
|
