Junior/Parent Tournament
On Sunday 26th November we hosted our Junior/Parent tournament and had a great turnout and lots of fun.
|
The day started out overcast and windy but the sun came out for a lovely afternoon. Teams had a handicap if necessary which made all the games competitive. Jeff and Levi Crichton took out 1st place with Geoff and Alex Heaton coming in as close runners-up.
|
Our littlest and newest players took part in a round robin with our red hot shots balls played in a half court. The matches were played the first to four games. They all had a great positive attitude which was awesome to see.

Huge thanks to all our helpers, Jan for running the tournament, Amy C and Sandra L for helping run the day, Ed S for cooking some awesome sausages and to all the seniors who filled in as our seniors for parents that were injured or non-tennis players!!

Christmas Club Night

Christmas Club night is one of our favourite nights of the year. Thanks to everyone who came along and to all our helpers shown smiling below.

Junior Coaching Term 1
If you would like to enroll in Junior Coaching, please get in touch with Geoff Beech coaching. Following are session times for hotshots coaching in Term 1.

RED BALL - 5-6 years Monday 4pm
ORANGE BALL - 7-9 years Thursday 3:30pm
GREEN BALL - 10+ years Thursday 3:30pm
YELLOW BALL - 13+ Tuesday 4pm
If you have enrolled in interclub Geoff Beech for term 1 will be in touch with a coaching time for your group.

If you have been attending Rusty Rackets the next step is to come down and give clubnight a go! Introduce yourself to Jan and she will make sure you are placed with similar skilled players.

National Masters Tournament 27th-31st Jan
We are still looking for volunteers to help with morning tea and lunch. Please e-mail Alice if you can help out. This should be a fun event with some great tennis viewing!
|
Please note the courts will be closed for bookings over this time until each days games have been competed. More info will be sent out closer to the time.
|

If anybody has some spare time to kill over the holidays and would like to volunteer some time and give back to the club, there is a list of small jobs stuck to the inside of the window (it will also be posted to Facebook). Helping out goes a long way to help the other volunteers that help keep the club running.

75th Jubilee Celebration
Did you know MBTC celebrates its 75th anniversary next year! A subcommittee has begun planning and will be putting together a program to mark the occasion. More details will be released early next year.

Did you know our Clubhouse is available to hire?
|
The MBTC clubhouse is available to hire for private functions (corporates/ 50ths / wedding anniversaries etc) Full kitchen, bar and bar staff with deck bathed in early evening sun overlooking Mission Bay Tennis Courts.

Important Club Reminders & Information
If you are leaving the club and there is no-one around please close the downstairs sliding door.
|
If you are leaving the courts and there is no-one else playing, please make sure the court gates are closed.
|
NEW: If you have started a bar tab please pay it at the end of the day or evening. This saves Jeremy extra hours of his time creating and sending out invoices. There will now be a small processing fee of $3 charge added to all bar tabs that need to be invoiced out to cover additional processing charges and time.
|
